kacey musgraves, “deeper well” tour
Making the transition back from pop to country, Kacey Musgraves announced her Irish-infused world tour, Deeper Well, from the album of the same name. One of Kacey’s tour stops was the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA.

In support of Kacey Musgraves for this tour were Father John Misty and Knickle Creek, both of whom opened up for Kacey at the Kia Forum for a two-night immersion across Kacey’s discography.

I hadn’t heard of either opener, but due to traffic I was only able to catch the end of Father John Misty’s set. His music falls into alternative indie with folk elements. I really enjoyed what I saw of his set. His voice both raw and full of emotion.

The audience seemed to be as much of a fan of Misty as Musgraves. Kacey came out a little less than an hour later, coming out of a grassy hill and fog.
I have been a fan of Kacey since the release of her debut country album, Same Trailer, Different Park, but never had the chance of seeing her live. She put on a great production as the green hills behind her changed elements — once even transitioning to being the moon.
During the show, Kacey both levitated and walked through the crowd to the B-stage, acoustically performed old favorites, and led fans in a rendition of Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club.

Kacey asked the crowd for a 5-second silence in respect for those who have lost their lives and homes due to Hurricane Helene, and it was a powerful moment as a crowd of 17,000 people fell silent.
Kacey ended the show with her ballad Rainbows. I am usually not a fan of artists ending their concerts with slow songs, but this was both an emotional and powerful way to conclude her show.
Venue: Believe it or not, this was my first time at the Forum. In all honesty, it is probably my favorite venue of all time! They really go out of their way to decorate the venue for the artist and fans. From projecting images and the name of the artist/band on the building to spray-painting lyrics of the artist on the columns. There were lots of places in the outdoor section of the venue to eat, drink, and relax before the show. They had lots of lights strung, and the employees were super friendly! It is a small venue for crowds due to the size of some of the shows it holds, so beware of that, but that doesn’t hinder it from being super clean.
Parking: We had to park directly across the street at SoFi Stadium. We got a really good parking spot and didn’t have to walk far at all. It was $40, but prices are subject to change due to the event so make sure to look ahead of your show date.
Merch: Kacey had really great merch and had a lot to choose from, with prices varying from $10-20 (Posters, CDs, Koozies, etc…) to Shirts and Sweatshirts $45-85.
Overall Show: I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed her show. I didn’t think she would talk or interact with the crowd as much as she did. I also loved how visual it was; it really brought the music to a whole other level. I rate this show and tour 8/10.
