echosmith “the decades” tour

It’s been 10 years since the viral hit, Cool Kids by the all-sibling band, Echosmith, was released. In honor of the song that skyrocketed the band’s career, Echosmith announced their Decades Tour in July of 2024. The band would be hitting 6 states before making the announcement in September that they would be extending the tour, adding 7 more stops in 4 more states!

I have seen Echosmith 2 times before and absolutely love how personal and intimate their shows are. Not to mention, they have insane talent and have a flawless discography spanning across three studio albums and one live album.

I attended the Santa Ana, CA tour stop, which was one of the last stops on the Decades Tour, but even after performing night after night, Echosmith was still as lively and energetic as if it were their first show.

Supporting Echosmith on their tour were America’s Got Talent contestant Jackie Evancho and pop/punk artist Lisa Heller.

Jackie has an angelic powerhouse voice, captivating the audience with her techno beats as her voice soars to heights not expected. I really liked Jackie’s setlist; I would like to see her play more upbeat songs and hope to hear more of those in the future.

Lisa Heller came on half an hour later with her guitarist and drummer. She came out with exhilarating energy that her band members matched to a T. She shared with the audience newly released songs, old fan favorites, and a well-known cover song.

Lisa even jumped into the crowd to sing All Star, with the audience giving fans an up-close interaction with her as everyone joined in for a rendition of the cover.

Echosmith came out about half an hour after Lisa Heller, starting the show with their brand-new song, Feminine Rage, and made sure to cover the stage to say hello to the audience no matter where they were.

One thing I really love and appreciate about the sibling trio is that they know how to make sure that, no matter where you’re watching the show from in the venue, they see you and acknowledge you.

From the moment Sydney (Lead singer) steps foot on stage, she is waving, pointing, and singing to and with fans throughout the venue. It makes their shows personable and special as they make their fans a part of the show.

Because of the significance of this tour, the band blended the setlist to include all the fan favorites from their three albums.

During Over My Head, Sydney came over, kneeling at the end of the stage where the crowd recorded the band’s talent from a close view. Sydney grabbed my hand (recognizing me from the meet and greet before the show and messages online between her and I), and we sang the song to each other. CORE MEMORY! The song instantly became a favorite of mine and has a new special place in my heart.

Throughout the show, Sydney and Noah were constantly switching between new instruments and guitars. They have so much raw talent, and the music naturally flows through them effortlessly. Because of this, it makes their shows that much more fun and interactive, giving fans a night to remember.

Venue: The Constellation Room at The Observatory. I attended this venue once before, ages ago, to see Sabrina Carpenter on her second tour (I think?) It’s a pretty clean venue but very small. I love small venues because it makes the show more intimate and welcoming, but it can get pretty crowded, so it’s a good thing to keep in mind if you get easily claustrophobic. The Constellation Room is standing room only, so that’s also something important to keep in mind so you can make accommodations if needed. The staff is relatively friendly and helpful, but I suggest, if you need to, make accommodations before the show date and call the venue.

Seats: I purchased VIP tickets, so we were able to go into the venue first to snag the best view. I was right up against the stage and had a great view for the opening acts. Unfortunately, Echosmith’s stage crew placed their drums and keyboard right in front of me and a few of the other concertgoers, giving us an obstructed view. No fault to Echosmith’s at all, but the stage crew could have done the stage a lot differently to give everyone a good view, especially because VIP ticket holders paid extra for that good view.

Parking: You can pre-buy parking online. For the Echsomith show, parking was $30 for venue parking or $15 for off-site parking. They do park you quite a walk from the venue if you opt for the second option. Definitely something to keep in mind, and all shows are subject to having their own parking amounts. Be sure to visit the Observatory website or call them in advance to see how much parking will cost. No cash!

Merch: Echosmith always has really good merch, and this tour was no different; it was all really good quality. They also had a lot to choose from, which is always a plus! I splurged for their new vinyl titled Echosmith, so I would have something for them to sign before I met them.

Overall: As I said, I love Echosmith shows. They are always so fun and lively, and I love feeling a part of the show because of how interactive it is. The sibling banter on stage is a bonus because you feel like you’re just having a jam party with them in your living room.

I will always encourage grabbing VIP M&G tickets if you’re going to an Echosmith show. Meeting the band prior to or after the show makes the show that much more special, and the band always remembers you from M&G and will most likely interact with you again during the show. 10/10!
