The lights, the band, the stage — PINK! And quite frankly, Megan’s best tour and performances of her career. The Cloud 9 tour comes after Megan releases her third studio album of the same name.

The 49-date tour visits arenas across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe and will end in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 1st, 2026.

I snagged a VIP ticket to see the tour personally in Sacramento, California. Consider this your backstage pass to this stop on Cloud 9.

Megan brought emerging country artist Solon Holt and pop singer-songwriter JP Saxe as her primary opening acts.

Solon’s voice instantly took me aback; it was like a country John Mayer, and I hoped with everything in me he would do a Mayer cover… a girl can dream, right? He performed a 4-song setlist;

His vocals are great, and he was so kind-hearted, taking pictures with fans before JP Saxe took the stage. However, I felt his stage presence could have been stronger, especially since he was opening arenas for one of country music’s biggest stars. I see him quickly going upwards and really hope to see more of him in the near future.

JP Saxe is an award winning grammy nominated singer songwriter who has written hits alongside other artists such as Sabrina Carpenter (Because I Liked A Boy), Lewis Capaldi (Wish You The Best), Nick Jonas (Handprints), and Sam Hunt (Wishful Thinking).

Saxe completely stole the show, even with him sitting at the piano for the entirety of his set. He was so humble and normal that no one in the crowd knew he wrote with such big names in the industry until he covered a song he wrote with Sabrina (Carpenter).

I absolutely fell in love with his music and can’t wait to see him headline stages of his own. Like Solon, I just felt like there wasn’t much of a show they were putting on — they just played their songs for their allotted time with little to no band and one single spotlight. I’m not sure if it was an artist preference or stage management choice, but I would have really liked to have seen them get a bit more of the full show accessories on stage.

From JP’s set until Megan took the stage, there was about a thirty-minute wait, which was not at all bad. Megan’s pre-show playlist was top to bottom incredible (as a fellow Gen Z-er, I didn’t expect anything less). With hits from Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Rodrigo… chef's kiss.

And of course, right before the lights went down and the arena went dark, we were treated to Megan’s anthem Best of Both Worlds by Hannah Montana, enveloping the arena as fans screamed along. I love that Megan has kept this tradition but she has recorded and released her own version of Best of Both Worlds, so I think it would be really fun for her version to be played or maybe played as a surprise song?

The Setlist was all around perfect, but ya’ll no love for Sorry…I Meant Tonight? I know it’s a bonus track, but Megan really needs to make this a permanent part of the setlist for the international dates.

You could tell from top to bottom that this production was thoroughly thought out, and it felt so much stronger than the Am I Okay? Tour last year. Megan Moroney definitely gave this her all creatively and physically because this girl was doing some training; click here to learn about that.

I was definitely anticipating some more outfit changes, but I respected her quick changes and how she seamlessly changed outfits on stage, and how cute these outfits were for this tour!

Megan coins her shows as group therapy, and she really hits it on the head with that comparison. Megan and her 19,000 closest friends crashed out together, cried with each other, went through the five stages of grief, and danced around like it was the best sleepover EVER!

I definitely would have loved to hear Megan talk to the crowd more. I felt that the concert was a tad rushed, and that had she slowed the concert down to do some speeches in between songs, things would have felt more intimate and like she truly wanted to spend time with. Don’t come at me! Megan and all artists have incredibly demanding and hardcore jobs – their vocals get strained and tired, their bodies endure a two-hour concert every other night for a few good long months, and they deserve their own time as well. I am so grateful Megan did give a beautiful speech before Beautiful Things, and she did talk to the crowd….I am just stating what I love from live shows.

I don’t have much else to critique or wish she would have done more of or do for the first time. Megan is a fabulous entertainer; her tours keep getting better and better, and her fans make the show that much more fun! I need Megan to win entertainer of the year — CMAs, I’m looking at you!

Tips

Should I arrive early? This depends on the seats you have. If you have floor seats, then that’s a big yes! The floor filled up fast, and I was an hour early when doors opened. If you have reserved seats and you pre-order parking or get dropped off, then you’re good to come an hour before the show. If you plan on buying merch, you need to be there extra early! I have never seen merch lines so insanely long. The fact that Golden 1 Center has little to no shade on their property is also a factor in how early you should get to the venue.

How long was the show? Sacramento had two openers before Megan, and from the time of the first opener to when Megan left the stage for the final time, it was three and a half hours long. Megan’s set was one hour and fifty minutes.

Venue: Golden 1 Center is clean, nice, and spacious for being a smaller venue. However, this is the first time going here when I’ve had a pit ticket, and I was not happy with the process of getting to the pit. Normally, you go to your appointed section, or the section closest to where you’ll be sitting, show an usher your ticket, and they’ll direct you to your seats. Seeing as you can get to the floor from any section, I asked an usher if I could be let through from the bottom of the section, and he sent me through. I was sent right back up the stairs because I needed a wristband to get to the pit, which was not disclosed in the many emails I got from Ticketmaster before the show or by anyone at the venue. It took talking to three ushers, lots of unnecessary walking, and showing my ticket to a lot of employees. This was not organized and was poorly executed. There were approximately 2,000 people in the pit, and they only had one usher handing out wristbands in one section of the venue.

Seats: The pit is my favorite view for any concert. I love being as close to the artist as possible, and I feel like it makes the concert experience that much more immersive. The employees running things down on the floor were super kind and efficient. And the view of the stage from every angle was perfect! If you’re looking at the stage from the top middle of the venue, I was standing to the far left of the stage.

Merch: I gotta say, I’m a massive Megan fan, but honestly the merch was not it this tour, and the quality had gone down since last year. I got the pink cameo tour tee, which is basically the same shirt I got from last tour, just in cloud 9 pink, and the quality is insanely different. I wear my AIOT camo tee ALL the time, and it’s incredibly thick and comfy, but the C9 tour shirt is thin, and the texture is not the most comfortable. I also bought the pink Megan football jersey. YA’LL, the thinness of the jersey- I feel like I’m going to rip it while putting it on, and it’s also completely see-through. I feel like the only item that was okay quality was the Cloud 9 tour hoodie, and your girl was not gonna pay $125 for one sweater. We ball on a budget around here! And the lines? Ridiculously long! They had Megan’s merch trailer, a pop-up merch booth outside the venue, and two merch tables inside. I honestly don’t know why these lines were so long.

Overall: This was such an incredible show! It was so different than past tours and anything Megan has ever done, and it was like you were stepping into the Cloud 9 universe; that’s my number one rule when I attend concerts…. Is the artist taking me somewhere different? Megan really outdid herself, and I have no complaints, just maybe the show being longer because I never wanted to leave where I was; it’s a long, long way, way down from Cloud 9.
